Attracting Abundance By First Noticing Abundance (And Removing Resistance With EFT)

July 2nd, 2008

Often we are focused upon what we DO NOT have.  Many of us are focused upon the lack in our lives.  Lack of money, lack of opportunitys, lack of talent, lack of confidence in ourselves…..

I believe it’s true that what you focus upon you attract into your reality.  So it makes sense to focus on the abundance in our lives.

Think about your favourite beach.  Go there in your mind & look around.  How many grains of sand are there?  Look at the sheer volume of sand on the beach!  Look at the abundance of sand - there is more than enough.  There is plenty of sand; the supply is bountiful & flourishing & generous.  You cannot even see each individaul grain of sand - that is how richly supplied this beach is.

Feel in awe of the abundance of sand & connect with this feeling of ‘more than enough’.  This is a pleasant exercise which will leave you feeling happy.

It is only once we take our focus off the lack in our lives to the abundance which exists around us (the air we breathe, the leaves on trees, the number of ants there are) that we will attact abundance into our lives more consistently.

Use EFT to tap upon any resistance you feel.  Please use any of the following set-up phrases if they apply to you:

‘Even though up until now I have only focused on the lack in my life, I deeply & completely love & accept myself’

‘Even though I feel there is nothing abundant to focus upon, I deeply & completely love & accept myself’

‘Even though I think this is a silly visualisation exercise, I deeply & completely love & accept myself.  I choose to try this anyway’

Tap on whaver resistance comes up for you.  Enjoy.

Celebrate When The Mud Hits The Fan

March 16th, 2008

Have you ever been in a situation when all is going smoothly & then you encounter a series of setbacks?  I used to get annoyed when this happened until I noticed a positive pattern.

Upon reflection, my setbacks prevented me from going in a direction I was intent upon moving.  A chaotic, messy roadblock would force me to reevaluate what ever I was doing.

After the mud had hit the fan & the interruption had passed something positive & wonderful always happened.  Whether this positivity was a new insight, a new opportunity - I wouldn’t have encountered this good if it hadn’t been for the setback.

Now when the mud hits the fan, I pause.  I use EFT to tap on any annoyance or anger I feel, then I take a deep breath & celebrate.

How To Be More Patient With EFT

February 26th, 2008

Sometimes when you can feel change is in the air, you are impatient for this new good to appear in your life. It takes time for energy to mold itself & for our desires to manifest on a physical plane.

Use EFT to tap on your impatience. Some useful set-up phrases include………

‘Even though I don’t trust _______ to appear in my life, I deeply & completely love & accept myself’

‘Even though I’m not worthy of receiving ____________ in my life, I deeply & completely love & accept myself’

‘Even though I can’t wait a day longer & I want _________ now, I deeply & completely love & accept myself’

Swallow Your Frog First With EFT

February 25th, 2008

Over the weekend I was listening to an audio, where I heard a great analogy I’d like to share with you. The speaker said to ’swallow your frog first’.

He was talking about doing your ugliest, hardest, most tedious task on your ‘to do’ list first. The task the speaker calls your ‘frog’ has big positive consequences if you complete it & big negative consequences if you avoid it.

Use EFT to tap on your procrastination, your unwillingness to do the ‘hard thing first’ & any other resistance you may have.

I guarantee you will feel lighter & more motivated to continue with the rest of your day once you have ’swallowed your frog’.

Why Doesn’t EFT Always Cure Everything In One Session?

February 25th, 2008

I find many of my clients ask me at some time or another ‘why doesn’t EFT cure all my discomfort during the first session?’. Many are indignant that they have ‘already tapped on that before’. Here are two possible reasons.

Perhaps there is a root, underlying issue that has not been addressed & tapped on. Perhaps there is a new aspect that has arisen that you need to address, that you didn’t previously. In my opinion this is the more likely of the two scenarios.

I believe many people want a quick fix, many are too impatient. The popular example being that if you have a headache, you take an asprin. You feel better & conclude that the asprin relieved your headache. 8 months later you have another headache. Do you expect the asprin that you took 8 months ago to still work in this instance now? No, you take another asprin knowing it will help you again.

Similarly EFT doesn’t always completely & entirely for the rest of your life cure all your discomfort (though contradictorily it is possible). Enjoy using EFT as & when you need it. EFT is a wonderful tool when you apply it correctly!

How EFT Assists You As You Go

February 13th, 2008

What I like most about EFT is that it’s always there whenever you may need to use it.  Think back to your life two years ago……  My guess is a lot has changed in that time.  As we outgrow certain people, circumstances & beliefs we evolve.

What may have served us previously, may no longer have any purpose now.  The more discomfort you feel, the more value there is for you to free yourself of it.  Use EFT to unravel & tap away all that niggles you.  Enjoy the process!

Are You Taking Enough Action?

January 18th, 2008

Few of us know what to do all of the time.  We all know we need to balance stepping aside  & allowing space for our desires to appear with taking the necessary steps to achieve this.

EFT is great if you find yourself stuck.  You know you need to take action but you somehow can’t.  Tap on not knowing where to start.  Tap on needing to know all the steps before you take the first.  Tap on the need for things to unfold as you expect.

By tapping on any discomfort you feel, you will pave the way for action more easily & consistently.

How To Use EFT In Sticky Situations

January 16th, 2008

EFT is a great tool in reducing fear in what I call ’sticky situations’. Sticky situations usually involve confrontation with another person. Rather than complaining to others who are not involved in your problem, why not deal with the issue head on & talk with whomever you are having trouble with face to face?

EFT can dissolve your fear of not knowing how the other person may respond. EFT can give you clarity on what the real issues are. When you address what needs to be addressed, you will find relief just in the act of doing this.

Lose Yourself In Nature After A Round Of EFT

January 15th, 2008

I find after doing a few rounds of EFT my mind is swimming a bit.  Did I get the discomfort down to a zero or is there still something there?  In these situations I find it helpful to remove myself from EFT & whatever problem I am trying to gain relief from.

Nature is a wonderful distraction.  Today I visited a beach I hadn’t been to for almost a year.  It was very satisfying to lose myself in that wonderful environment where  appreciation is a given.

Later when I thought back to my EFT rounds I could decide clearly whether there was any discomfort remaining or if I needed to do more EFT.

EFT & Patience

January 13th, 2008

Although we may think we know what we want - the timing of when we receive this may be different to what we expect.  In the long run does it matter when you receive the opportunity/ thing/ people you desire if you know that life will deliver when the time is best for you?

Perhaps you may feel impatient for something.  Take a step back & even if you don’t fully appreciate why that something is not in your life yet, be patient.  That something may not be in your life yet because it may be serving you for whatever reason.

Some useful EFT set-up phrases: ‘even though I don’t know why ________ is not in my life yet, I deeply & completely love & accept myself’

‘even though I don’t see the benefit for _______being in my life now, I choose to appreciate it anyway & trust in the process of life’

‘even though I don’t trust in the process of life & I want to control everything because I know best, I deeply & completely love & accept myself’
