You want change, but can’t do it…

January 8th, 2009 No comments

Perhaps you are existing on auto-pilot. Not even living, just going through the motions. You are familiar with your feelings of disappointment as this has become a natural state for you.

You want to change, but somehow can’t. You are stuck. What can you do? These EFT Set-up Statements can start you off…

‘Even though I have a burning desire to change but I just cant, I deeply and completely love & accept myself. I choose to push through my discomfort and seek new experiences’

‘Even though I am comfortable in my unhappiness, I deeply & completely love and accept myself. I choose to be open to being happy as my natural state’

‘Even though I don’t know how to initiate change, I deeply and completely love and accept myself. I choose to trust the first step will be made known to me if I listen’

I think Anais Nin sums up this well:
“Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death.”

Embrace the Dark Side…

January 7th, 2009 No comments

“Love the moment. Flowers grow out of dark moments. Therefore, each moment is vital. It affects the whole. Life is a succession of such moments and to live each, is to succeed.”  Corita Kent

I think sometimes we are too focused on always wanting the positive, the good, the sunny.  This is fine, but we must also embrace the ‘dark side‘ of eveything.  Everything needs its opposite to exist & for us to fully appreciate what we are striving for.

Every person, situation & opportunity is there for us to enjoy, appreciate & learn from.   Let us remember this!

Why Does the EFT Set-up Phrase Focus on the Negative?

January 5th, 2009 No comments

Many of us are familiar with affirmations being phrased in the positive.  Why then does the EFT set-up phrase focus upon the negative?  I have addressed this question in a previous newsletter – but will address it here too.  Gary Craig answers this best & I have copied his explanation here…

“I know this is confusing. Affirmations, in the classical sense, are designed to take you in positive directions. Thus their wording is always of an uplifting, “go for it, you can do anything” nature. EFT, on the other hand, is NOT designed to take you in positive directions. Instead, it’s purpose is to eliminate the negative and thus pave the way for the positive. That is a MUCH different goal.

One of the critical elements in EFT’s effectiveness is that one must “tune in” to the problem. Otherwise, the energy disruptions wouldn’t be there and so the problem could not be addressed.

The EFT Setup language necessarily focuses on what is wrong. This “Sets up” the problem like it was a bowling pin so that the EFT bowling ball (the rest of the process) can knock it over.” Gary Craig

Family: Crucial to our Beliefs

January 3rd, 2009 No comments

I think the holiday season makes us realise what is important in in our lives.  Family.  They are the ones that teach us (as best they know) from their experience.

They are the ones that most challenge us!  In this way they provide rich opportunities for personal growth.  EFT is great tool for getting to the root of where family beliefs can come from.  I came across this quote I thought I’d share:

There’s one sad truth in life I’ve foundWhile journeying east and west -

The only folks we really wound

Are those we love the best.

We flatter those we scarcely know,

We please the fleeting guest,

And deal full many a thoughtless blow

To those who love us best.

Ella Wheeler Wilcox

This EFT oriented website is provided as a public courtesy to help expand the use of EFT in the world.
While Gary Craig and EFT encourage such efforts, they cannot evaluate or endorse the multitudes of sites that exist.
Thus this website represents in good faith the ideas of its founders but not necessarily those of Gary Craig or EFT.
