Quote of the day

“Vision is the art of seeing things invisible”
- Jonathan Swift

Success & Abundance: Vision

If I asked you to describe what you want, how quickly and accurately could you answer the question? Would the answer simply be 'enough money to be comfortable', 'to be happy' or would you have to have to pause and think?

Today's exercise is to visualize what you want. Before we can work out the blocks on how to get there we need to know where 'there' is. Start by thinking where you would like to live and what you want to be doing. Then build on the details. What type of house do you live in, how big, what colour what views? Be as specific as possible. Make a collage of pictures that represent your vision, or make a drawing. What kind of car do you want, how much money in your bank account, which computer etc. Build up the collage by adding pictures, photos and drawings of everything on your 'ideal life' list.

Now cut out a photo of yourself, friends and family and paste it into the scene. Do you feel any resistance to being there. Shut your eyes and vividly imagine yourself driving that car, living in that house, doing that job etc. If you can't even imagine yourself there you have little chance of living that dream. If this is a problem then tap on 'even though I cannot see myself living this life I want, I deeply and completely accept myself'.

Once you can see yourself in the scene, notice any resistance you have to being there. Use EFT to clear any mental, emotional or physical discomfort. Keep tapping while looking at your collage or visualizing yourself in the picture until you feel completely at peace with it.

Now for the next month look at that image every day. Add more detail as the vision grows clearer, more pictures or notes to yourself. What colour the bedroom walls will be, what type of stereo the car will have etc. Try to add something new each day. Build your vision.

Tap every day for at least 5 minutes while holding the mental picture or looking at the physical one. Use a setup phrase like 'even though I don't have this vision yet, I completely accept myself and choose to make it more real every day in every way'.

In the next part we will look at identifying your limiting beliefs to manifesting your dream, in the mean time identify and strengthen that dream.

Questions & Answers

This section is devoted to your questions. I will do my best to answer them or find an answer to them. If you can expand on a reply to any question posted here please send it to me and I will print it with full acknowledgement.

Q) How long do I keep tapping? How do I know if treatment is going to work or if to refer on?

A) This is something that comes up quite often on my practitioner courses. In EFT we so often see rapid success that when we don't get it we think that nothing is working. Anybody following Gary Craig's newsletter will be aware of the recent case involving a client with MS who tapped for four months and became symptom free. This is great encouragement to many and a great reminder that persistence is sometimes necessary.
If a client has got headaches or internal pain and the symptoms are reoccurring, I always insist that they visit a doctor to find out if there is a medical explanation for the problem. If there is then I'm happy to keep working with them but only along side medical treatment, if that's their choice. If the doctors can't find the cause of the problem, can offer no satisfactory treatment or the condition is not serious then using EFT is in my belief a good a choice as any.
When do we admit that we cannot help? This is a tricky question. There has to be an ethical point at which we stop taking a clients money if they are making no progress. Some clients will give up on their own, others will cling to hope. I am always happy to remain working with a clients as long as they are making some, albeit slow, progress. For others I would simply recommend keep tapping on their own and I would just provide advice as to what setup phrases to use. Empower your clients with their own healing process.
I don't believe there is always an easy answer to this question and each case is different. Trust your intuition but never give up easily, persistence often pays off.

Hints & Tips

This months tip is taking a deep breath after each round of tapping, hardly a new concept but one often overlooked or underrated. Ask your client to take a deep breath into the pain or the source of emotion and then to let it go on the out breath.
I find this has several benefits. The first being it creates a natural end to a round of tapping which the client can recognize. It also gives a pathway to stagnant energy to move out through. On a more physiological level endorphins are released, thus aiding to pain relief and relaxation. Blood oxygen levels are also increased aiding any healing processes.
