Motivation to Quit Smoking
BackNext

What motivates you to quit smoking? Are you doing this because you want to or because you feel under pressure? As crazy as it sounds many people feel reluctant to give up because of being 'told what to do'. This well meaning advice may come from friends, family, your local doctor or the television.

It is important to remove these pressures and stop smoking because YOU choose to stop. First identity any other influences and clear them by tapping on them, until you no longer feel pressurized by them. Examples may include:

'Even though Doctor Evans tells me I must give up smoking, I deeply and completely accept myself'

'Even though my wife Jean keeps nagging me to stop smoking, I deeply and completely accept myself'

'Even though I don't want to stop smoking, it's only other people who want me to, I deeply love and respect myself'

'Even though I don't want to give up (but I know I must) I love and forgive myself'

Work through any and all influences you can think of, and choose to stop because YOU want to. If you don't want to stop, carry on reading anyway and you may change your mind as you learn about the misconceptions and truth behind your smoking addiction.
